America’s Got Talent - Fritzy Brothers “One Man” Circus Audition Story

Tuesday, June 6th, 2006

Greetings & choice blessings to you all!I’m an entertainer in Florida who has been entertaining since 1980 in the Tampa Bay area. I go by Fritzy Brothers “One Man” Circus and after seeing this sight I decided I’ll go ahead and share my story since I have not received a call back but still hoping for one.I auditioned in New York on April 19th. My brother lives in New York so I had a place to crash for a couple of nights and my sister-in-law works for the airlines and graciously gave me a buddy-pass to fly for free. The only ost was the shipment of my unicycle and to treat my brother John, his girlfriend and her family to dinner. We arrived at the hotel and it was quite the line! It was a very exciting day for me because I wasn’t even sure I was going to make it to New York with all the people at the airport who happened to have buddy passes and then having to drive to Sarasota to get the flight since Tampa was packed!

SO ANY WAY, a gentleman passed out some wrist bands to all those who were guests and then another guy passed out wrist bands to all of the performers, more waiting but it was all good because I had the opportunity to meet a lot of people in line.

I get to the waiting room and a young lady comes over to me and asks if I would mind riding behind this other guy getting an on-camera interview. Of course I will, I’d love to. So I hop on my six foot unicycle and ride behind this interview taking place, after about 10 min. she comes over and thanks me. I hop off the unicycle and the camera man asks me if I can get back on so he can tape me just riding around. Of course I will! HELLO, this is why I’m here. Now I’m acting like it’s my gig and I’m shaking people’s hands, pulling them while on the unicycle, laughing and joking with everyone. He thanks me, I thank him and soon I’m called into the audition room.

I go into the audition room and juggle, go through “the hoop of death” dismount, go into a somersault and balance the unicycle on my chin, take a bow, they tell me I would know in 30 days and as I leave the audition room another young lady chases me down and asks for me to stay behind to do an on camera interview.

This woman asks me several questions. Some, that I have never been asked before. Fabulous interview. I loved it! I loved every bit of this day. It was a blast! And yes, I’m still hoping to get a call.

That’s my story and I’m stickin’ with it. God bless!

Entertainingly yours Fritz

Miami Audition for America’s Got Talent 5-25-06 Insiders Story

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

American’s-got-talent.com  own Hunter auditioned at the Miami America’s Got Talent open call on 5-25-06.  His mom was kind enough to provide his story:Miami Auditon for America's Got Talent 5-25-06

Hey gang well we (the munchkin and I ) stayed at the Miami Biscayne Bay Marriot the host hotel for the recently added Miami audtions today May 25th 2006. Lets just say that $213 for a basic room with a ledge/balcony which you have to close the sliding glass door with your butt is a bit stiff add to that the fact that all night everytime you started to drift off the DING of the elevator was so loud it was like an every 5 min alarm clock then there was the crashing monster “The dreaded Ice Machine”. We didn’t get much sleep but at least the beast did fall asleep about 9:30 so I could watch the end of American Idol (Go Taylor!).
About 11pm the beast woke up and pretty much most of the eve was spent attempting to sleep….
At 5:30am we called the front desk and were told we only had about 5 people bucking for first in line and so got up and got ready by about 6.
DrummerGirl and her Mom and Grandmother were there and she was right in line behind the Hunt so that was great to actually know yes we are all real
In the front of the line we had a singer guitar plaer from New York that I had the pleasure of hearing through the audition room C door A+ pipes on that girl (and this complement has nothing to do with the fact that she provide Huntman and I with some gum since we were stuck with wet washcloth “brushing” when I forgot our toothbrushes and toothpaste even though this was appreciated greatly by us as well as those around us I am sure!)
There was also a Chicago area person that missed the giant windy city auditions. There was another from Alabama and then several of us Floridians.
The first kidlet to make the sceen was a 7 year old Fast Pitch Softball Phenom. We talking 40mph fast balls coming out of this little bit of cutiepatootieness! Mom was catching for her I think Mom should have gotten a medal for that this kid is gonna be putting Mom across the yard if she keeps at it!
After about 1 1/2 hours hanging by the Registration area took the beast down to get a bit o’ breakfast and returned to find everyone GONE! Yikes. Luckily decorum was the day and the line when moved outside was a same as inside so we did not lose ground (THANKS DRUMMERGIRL!)
So poor Drummer girl all heck poor all of us were subjected for the next 2 hours to this guy that was loud annoying, abrasive and basically was lucky he was not shot on site by security after all the complaints. He brought his annoyance factor in to the warm-up room. Oh joy for me when I saw he was in the group called to be with Hunter. Thinking this would run like Atlanta with all 5 going in at once I he was going to destroy everyone’s audition running his mouth.
Thank the angels there were so few there they did everyone individualy!

Emmett Furrow The Fold Up Comic Auditions in Atlanta

Wednesday, May 24th, 2006

America’s Got Talent held auditions in Atlanta looking for contestants for it’s new show.  Emmett Auditioned and send us this report on his experience:

I’m a novelty act comedian, with more than 15 years of touring and performing credit.  A couple of different booking agents recommended me for the show, so I got my ducks in a row ( not that I use actual ducks in my show) and headed down to Atlanta for an audition.  Regardless of how it all played out, I was very impressed with the courtesy and professionalism of all the producers, cameramen, sound techs, and staff.  It was a fun day of people watching, and I was very happy with my audition and interview.
However….
My particular “novelty” involves martial arts and strange body tricks along with standup comedy.  It’s a tiny little niche, but it’s all mine, dammit.  When I entered the “holding room” (a few dozen people and a hundred chairs), I spotted not one, but two camera crews.  Knowing that the only face time that I might get on-camera could be these guys, I decided to draw a little attention.
You see, when a dance troupe of 11 year-olds comes into a room and starts doing splits, it’s not that unusual.  When a 40-something, bald, kinda chubby guy does the same thing, it’s not normal.
The cameraman practically sprinted over and I looked up to the lens about 8 inches from my face.  I made a little joke, shifted a little, and then felt a new sensation.  A pop.  Not the usual kind of “good morning” pop that comes with a good stretch.  A deep, hip pop that was the feeling of stretching without warming up adequately following a 3 hour drive.  Something went afoul in my hip….
I don’t think my face showed anything on the tape, but it’s been a full 30 days since the audition and my hip is not back to normal.  And since high kicks are a crucial part of my show, I’ve been reminded of my audition almost daily.
I hope I get on  the show, because I’d hate for this to be my only memory of the America’s Got Talent experience…..
